Help the Environment - Recycle More

We all know that waste is a growing problem...

In the UK alone we throw away over 1.2 million tonnes of electrical and electronic items every year - that's the equivalent of 150,000 double-decker buses. This is increasing by about 5% every year, and about 75% of this electrical waste ends up on landfill. This can lead to lead and other toxins within electrical products causing soil and water pollution.

Because we care about the environment we would strongly encourage you to recycle your waste electrical products so as to prevent this pollution.

What electrical products can I recycle?

The simple way to find out if a new electrical item can be recycled is to look for the "crossed out wheelie bin" sign on either the item itself or its packaging - that means you shouldn't throw it away but instead make sure it's properly recycled.

How can I recycle my old electrical products?

Easy - just take them to your local DCF (that's "Designated Collection Facilities" in case you weren't sure). Many council-run waste depots across the country have been upgraded to include DCF facilities - just drop off your stuff and you're done!
The staff there will make sure everything is
disposed of responsibly in a way that doesn't
affect the environment, and on top of it all,
you won’t have to pay a penny!
