Now in its 5th year, the Durex Face of Global Sex Survey is a ground-breaking report about the factors that affect the sexual health and behaviours of people around the world.
For the 2010 sex survey, we explored attitudes towards sexual health across 15 European countries – 9 in Western Europe and 6 in Eastern Europe.
Focusing on young people between 15 and 20, we looked at their attitudes and level of sex knowledge as well as what they’re actually getting up to in the bedroom. Worryingly, the results showed that many teenagers are putting their sexual health at risk. It also showed clear differences in attitude across Europe and between girls and boys.
Sex education
How soon is too soon to start giving young people sex education? Our survey concluded that earlier may be better despite what some parents and teachers think. With decent sex education, many youngsters wait longer before they become sexually active.
